Rules of competitions.

Preparation in a universal karate passes on two directions - applied and sports. The sports direction includes 4 versions: grappling, full-contact, universal-contact and professional version (ukado-fight). At all versions are spend sports competitions.

BRIEF RULES OF MIX-CONTACT (UNIVERSAL KARATE UKADO).

Competitions will be carried out on tatami (mats) 8 õ 8 m. or on a boxing ring 6 x 6 m. The fight passes without a stop and is estimated by lateral judges on the basis of judicial notes. Duration of groundfighting of 20 seconds. For performance of locks or strangulations 30 more seconds are added.

TIME OF FIGHT:

Teenagers: 2 minutes;
Boys: 3 minutes;
Young men: 3 minutes;
Cadets: 4 minutes;
Men: 4 minutes.

WEIGHT CATEGORIES:

Teenagers: 27, 31, 35, 40, 45, 50, over 50 kg;
Boys: 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, over 60 kg;
Young men: 45, 50, 55, 60, 66, over 66 kg;
Cadets: 58, 63, 69, 76, over 76 kg;
Men: 63, 69, 76, 85, over 85 kg.

UNIFORM:

Keikogi for karate or judo (it is possible only trousers, without a jacket - with a naked torso); kote (8 ounces) - gloves with the fingers open.

PROHIBITED (kinshi-waza):

- attacks to groin, spine and neck;
- attacks by a head;
- attacks by elbow and a knee to a head;
- kicks if the opponent is on the ground;
- locks to the fingers, spine and foot;
- to press by fingers, palm or elbow, foot or knee of the face;
- captures of fingers, ears, hair and groin;
- other not-sportsmanlike actions.

PERMITTED:

- punches and kicks to a head, a torso and legs (atemi wadza);
- grappling;
- groundfighting and groundgrappling (katame-waza);
- punches in the groundfighting (atemi wadza);
- punches by elbows and knees only to a torso;
- throws (nage wadza);
- holds the opponent on the ground (osae-komi wadza);
- locks to arms and legs (kansetsu wadza), strangulations (sime wadza);
- imitation of «final» stroke to the head when an opponent is controlled on the ground.

IPPON (WIN A VICTORY):

- the lock or strangulation, in case of submission;
- knockout;
- when an opponent refuse to fight;
- 2 waza-ari.

VICTORY BY POINTS:

Waza-ari (half-win and 8 points): :

- knockdown.

Yuko - (2 points):

- kick in head;
- high throw (nage wadza) of a opponent’s on the back or side;
- holds of a opponent’s on the ground (osae-komi) 20 seconds.

Koka - (1 point):

- kick or punch;
- low throw (nage wadza) of a opponent’s on the back or side;
- holds of a opponent’s on the ground (osae-komi) 10 seconds;
- going behind of the opponent to the him a back (only for groundgrappling);
- imitation of stroke or kick in the head (if the opponent on the ground and can not be protected).
